Basketball Recap: Ally Weathers Key Part of a Team Effort in Mustangs Win

A well-balanced attack led Loretto over Lawrence County in every quarter on their way to victory on Thursday. The Loretto Mustangs took down the Lawrence County Wildcats 52-35. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 62-43 back in December of 2024.

Loretto's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ally Weathers, who posted 16 points. Weathers' evening made it five games in a row in which she has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Ally Augustin, who earned 16 points.

Loretto has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 11-7 record this season. As for Lawrence County, they dropped their record down to 8-5 with the defeat, which was their third straight on the road.

Loretto will face off against Mt. Pleasant at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Lawrence County, a feisty cat fight will be fought when the Lawrence County Wildcats take on the Giles County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
