Lindale extended their postseason success on Tuesday against Celina. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over the Bobcats. The victory was nothing new for the Eagles as they're now sitting on six straight.
If you add up the scores from across all five sets (109-106) Lindale actually scored fewer points, but in the end it didn't matter. The final score came out to 25-23, 23-25, 18-25, 25-23, 15-13.
Alyssa Potts paced Lindale's offense, picking up 20 kills. Potts got some help from Macy Luster and her 31 assists. Finally, Brooke Gissell kept Lindale's defense grounded, leading the team with six blocks.
Despite the defeat, Celina saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Addilyn Paulson had 33 digs. Those 33 digs set a new season-high mark for Paulson.
Lindale's win bumped their record up to 33-14. As for Celina, with the loss, they broke their three-match winning streak and moved their record to 21-25.
Looking ahead, Lindale will square off against Decatur on Saturday. Celina does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
