Brush had won three straight at home, but on Friday they bumped up to 7-0 to make it four. They really took it to the Fort Lupton Bluedevils for the full four quarters, racking up a 54-15 win. The result was nothing new for the Beetdiggers, who have now won five contests by 22 points or more so far this season.
Ritchie Bruno produced another solid performance rushing for 177 yards and three touchdowns on only ten carries. Dylan Krob was in the mix as well, providing Brush with two TDs.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Brush was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 292 rushing yards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now rushed for at least 243 rushing yards in five consecutive matchups.
Special teams also deserves some recognition, posting 12 points in total. The biggest highlight from special teams (and perhaps the team as a whole) came courtesy of Cassius Middlemist, who ran a kickoff back for a touchdown.
As for Fort Lupton, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Brush: they've now lost eight in a row.
Despite the defeat, Fort Lupton saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Ilian Tovar picked up 160 receiving yards and one score.
