Delaware Christian got a massive performance out of Claire Costello, who went a perfect 5-for-5 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. Costello is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: she's snagged at least one every time she's taken the field this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ashlyn McCoy, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, two doubles, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Madison Christian). They blew past Shekinah Christian 23-9 on Saturday. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Flames: they've now won nine in a row.
Cymbre Rice was a standout: she got on base in all five of her plate appearances with seven stolen bases, two runs, and one triple. Those seven stolen bases gave her a new career-high. Lily Scholz was another key player, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs.
Madison Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .600. They are a perfect 4-0 when they post a batting average of .375 or better.
Delaware Christian's defeat was their first in the conference, dropping their conference record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 4-3. As for Madison Christian, they now have a winning record of 6-5.
