Fans got a thrill when James Tabary and Michael Chigbu connected against Chalmette. The connection went for 80 yards, the longest such play in 5A District 9 this season.
Archbishop Shaw scaled the state rankings by moving to 73 from 112 this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Eagles climbed the ranks as a result of besting South Lafourche 42-7.
Holy Cross's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Tabary threw for 225 and 3 touchdowns and Chigbu had 119 yards receiving. On the ground Todd Spriggins chipped in 100 yards. Jerry Cook helped Holy Cross' passing attack out by catching 5 balls for 52 yards.
