St. Edmund gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Friday. They took their game with ease, bagging a 58-28 victory over the Elton Indians. The Fighting Blue Jays pushed the score to 50-28 by the end of the third, a deficit the Indians had little chance of recovering from.

St. Edmund's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nathan Zaunbrecher, who threw for 337 yards and a pair of TDs while picking up 16.9 yards per attempt. Nathan Driggs was another major influence, as he rushed for 62 yards and ran in a TD.

St. Edmund didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next match, a 55-6 victory against Sacred Heart on the 13th. As for Elton, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next contest, a 45-22 win against Northwood on the 12th.
