The Fishers Tigers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won six matches by 20 points or more this season. They put the hurt on Pike with a sharp 77-57 win on Tuesday. Given Fishers' advantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 20th, while Pike is ranked 82nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Fishers to victory, but perhaps none more so than Talia Harris, who scored 23 points. The game was Harris' sixth in a row with at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Allison Scheu, who dropped a double-double on 15 points and 11 rebounds.
Fishers is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Pike, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-8.
Fishers will head out on the road to face off against Mother McAuley at 12:30 p.m. on Thursday. Mother McAuley is on a three-game streak of home wins, Fishers a five-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. Pike will take on Zionsville at 2:30 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Zionsville focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Wednesday.
