The Cross Keys Indians's five-game losing streak came to an end on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 45-19 margin over Howard. The win was just what Cross Keys needed coming off of a 57-13 defeat in their prior match.
Cross Keys found their leader in underclassman Lindsey Tran, who scored 13 points along with 6 steals. Nicole Reseniz was another key contributor, scoring 13 points.
Howard's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Caitlin Forgione, who scored 6 points.
Cross Keys' win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 1-5. Those losses could be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they only averaged 16.0 points per game. As for Howard, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-2-1.
Cross Keys will head out on the road to face off against Atlanta Girls' School at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Howard, they have the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Atlanta Area School for the Deaf at 5:00 p.m. on December 5th.
