Plantation has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Plantation will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 128th, while St. Thomas Aquinas is ranked third).
Last Friday, Plantation was the victim of a rough 34-14 defeat at the hands of Western. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Plantation in their matchups with Western: they've now lost four in a row.
Plantation's loss came about despite a quality game from Jorge "jt" tabora ii, who rushed for 13 yards and a touchdown, and also threw for 222 yards and a touchdown.
Meanwhile, St. Thomas Aquinas came tearing into two weeks ago's matchup with nine straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 32.5 points) and they left with even more momentum. They didn't even let Dillard onto the board and left with a 58-0 victory. Considering St. Thomas Aquinas has won seven contests by more than 25 points this season, two weeks ago's blowout was nothing new.
St. Thomas Aquinas can attribute much of their success to Andrew Indorf, who threw for 127 yards and four touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and James Madison II, who picked up 56 receiving yards and four touchdowns. Ryan Mack got in on the action too, converting a pick into a touchdown.
Plantation has traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-4 record this season. As for St. Thomas Aquinas, their win was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-1.
Plantation took a serious blow against St. Thomas Aquinas in their previous meeting back in November of 2019, falling 59-19. Thankfully for Plantation, Zion Turner (who threw for 212 yards and three touchdowns while completing 72.7% of his passes, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground) won't be suiting up this time.
