Basketball Game Preview: Rangely Panthers vs. West Grand Mustangs

Rangely is a perfect 10-0 against West Grand since February of 2018 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Panthers will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mustangs at 2:30 p.m. Rangely is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 51.5 points per game this season.

Rangely is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Vail Christian, posting a 77-22 victory. The win continues a trend for the Panthers in their matchups with the Saints: they've now won six in a row.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Rangely to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aubrey Yates, who went 9-for-20 to rack up 21 points and four steals. Yates has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last 13 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Tegan Behunin, who posted 13 points in addition to seven steals and six rebounds.

Rangely smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 24 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in 11 consecutive matchups.

Meanwhile, West Grand was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were beaten by Hayden 57-26. That's two games in a row now that the Mustangs have lost by exactly 31 points.

Rangely's victory bumped their record up to 11-4. As for West Grand, their loss dropped their record down to 2-17.
