The Lawrence Tigers have not had quite the year their fans were hoping for to this point, but back-to-back wins may be a sign of good things to come. They secured a 42-36 W over Battle Creek Academy on Thursday. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Lawrence also won the last time the pair played back in January of 2023.
Ben McCaw was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. He is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Alex Gardner was another key contributor, scoring six points along with seven rebounds.
Lawrence's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-8. As for Battle Creek Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-4.
Lawrence won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Bloomingdale at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Bloomingdale has now lost ten straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 1. As for Battle Creek Academy, Battle Creek Academy and Will Carleton Academy will face off at 6:00 p.m. on January 29th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday.
