1A District 6 recap November 13, 2013
Trenton added to the longest winning streak in 1A District 6 this week by beating St. Francis Catholic, 48-14. The victory was the seventh in a row for the team.
Trenton took down the Wolves 48-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Stephen Smith threw for 72 yards and 1 touchdown and ran for 95 yards in the win.
Bell's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Jacob Johnson threw for 122 and 2 touchdowns and Bruce Thomas had 61 yards receiving. On the ground Austin Ritchey contributed 176 yards. Brandon Denham helped Bell's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 30 yards.
Ritchey provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Bulldogs topped Branford.
Ritchey was the most successful running back in the league this week. In 17 carries, he ran for 176 yards as Bell beat the Buccaneers. John Oslager also contributed to the rushing game with 37 yards on the ground.
6-foot-3 quarterback Bryce Jenkins of Hilliard is the league leader in passing yards this season with 935. He has also thrown 4 touchdowns. The leading receiver in the league this season is Thomas. The Bell star has 12 catches for 359 yards.
Andrew Thomas' team led the league in scoring this week by notching 48 points on St. Francis Catholic. Smith ran for 95 yards during the win.
