The Cross Trojans will head out on the road to take on the Palmetto Scholars Academy Phoenix at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Cross knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past nine games -- so hopefully the Phoenix like a good challenge.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cross gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They were the clear victor by a 61-41 margin over Charleston Math & Science.
Cross' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jamez Way led the charge by dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds. It was the first time this season that Way pulled down eight or more rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Caden Ramsey, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds.
Meanwhile, Palmetto Scholars Academy came up short against the Islanders on Friday and fell 57-44. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Palmetto Scholars Academy in their matchups with the Islanders: they've now lost seven in a row.
Cross pushed their record up to 17-4 with that win, which was their sixth straight at home. As for Palmetto Scholars Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 3-12.
Everything came up roses for Cross against the Phoenix in their previous matchup back in January as the squad secured a 66-35 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Cross since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
