The Brawley Wildcats and the Aliso Niguel Wolverines will round out the year against one another at 12:00 p.m. on Wednesday at. Brawley will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 713th, while Aliso Niguel is ranked 126th).
Brawley unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Tuesday. They fell 51-40 to Central. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Brawley in their matchups with Central: they've now lost eight in a row.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Domanic Vallejo, who scored 19 points. The contest was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. Ethan Flores was another key contributor, scoring ten points along with eight rebounds.
Brawley struggled to work together and finished the game with only two assists. That's the fewest assists they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Aliso Niguel didn't have too much trouble with Segerstrom on the road on Friday as they won 62-47.
Brawley's defeat dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Aliso Niguel, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season.
