Bishop Alemany gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 5-4 win over the San Fernando Tigers. The victory was some much needed relief for the Warriors as it spelled an end to their six-game losing streak dating back to last season.
Kalie Peralta was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching five innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits. Peralta was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two RBI.
In other batting news, Charlotte Riggen was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Kai Iiagan, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
Bishop Alemany wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 4-0 win against Chavez on the 22nd.
