Canyon has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will take on the Foothill Knights at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Tuesday, Canyon beat Yorba Linda 51-41.
Canyon's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Josh Goodall, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds. Goodall hasn't dropped below 15points for four straight games. Another player making a difference was Jeremy Loreto, who scored 13 points along with five assists.
Meanwhile, even though Villa Park scored an imposing 57 points on Tuesday, Foothill still came out on top. Foothill took their match against Villa Park 70-57. Given Foothill's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while Villa Park is ranked 214th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Canyon has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. As for Foothill, they pushed their record up to 15-7 with that win, which was their fourth straight on the road.
Canyon came out on top in a nail-biter against Foothill when the teams last played back in January of 2023, sneaking past 56-54. Does Canyon have another victory up their sleeve, or will Foothill turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
