Landon Gustafson was a major factor no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Gustafson was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
In other batting news, Jimmy Parmiter was a standout: he scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That run was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Fabian Zorilla, who scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in two of his three plate appearances.
Collegium Charter always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .607. The last time their OBP was this high was back in April of 2024.
Meanwhile, Delaware County Christian came up short against Westtown on Friday and fell 13-8.
Matteo DeBellis was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while getting on base in two of his four plate appearances. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Josiah Lyren was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-4.
Collegium Charter's record now sits at 2-3. As for Delaware County Christian, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Tuesday as neither team is afraid to steal. Collegium Charter has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Delaware County Christian struggles in that department as they've been averaging 5.3 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
