The Montgomery Academy Eagles fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They really took it to Geneva for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-24 win at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 34-8.
Leading Montgomery Academy to victory were D.j. Vinson and Parker Cook. Vinson picked up 276 receiving yards and four touchdowns, while Cook threw for 377 yards and seven touchdowns while completing 81.3% of his passes. Vinson's longest reception was for an incredible 74 yards. Another player making a difference was Chance Wilson, who rushed for 97 yards and a touchdown.
Montgomery Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-6. As for Geneva, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.
Montgomery Academy will have some time to savor their victory since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Bibb County at 7:00 p.m. on November 9th. Bibb County will be looking to keep their four-game home win streak alive. Geneva does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
