The Velma-Alma Comets will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Seiling Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on December 8th. Velma-Alma has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 708 points over their last 13 games.
Velma-Alma extended their postseason success on Saturday against Okeene. They took down the Whippets 66-48. Yes, you read that score correctly, and yes, they were playing football.
Kaiden Lyle and Slade Strickland were among the main playmakers for Velma-Alma as the former rushed for 187 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 8.9 yards per carry and the latter rushed for 168 yards and a touchdown on only 14 carries. Strickland is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last four games he's played. Velma-Alma also got help from Langsten Walker who showed off his sure hands for 92 receiving yards.
Meanwhile, Seiling put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Regent Prep and snuck past 42-40. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
Velma-Alma's win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 13-1. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 59.0 points per game. As for Seiling, their win bumped their record up to 14-0.
