Nemaha Central has gone a perfect 8-0 against Atchison County recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Friday. The Thunder will host the Tigers at 7:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Nemaha Central has seven straight wins, Atchison County has three straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Nemaha Central had to skate by with only a two-point margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 21-point drubbing they dealt Royal Valley on Friday. The Thunder blew past the Panthers 48-27. The result was nothing new for the Thunder, who have now won five matchups by 21 points or more so far this season.
Carter Hajek continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 277 yards and five scores while picking up 10.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 69 yards and one touchdown while completing 85.7% of his passes.

Fans were treated to a battle of the Tigers on Friday. Atchison County was outmatched by Jefferson West and fell 50-12. Atchison County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 43-0.
Nemaha Central will have to contain Max Bottorff as he made an impact in Atchison County's last game. He rushed for 66 yards and a pair of TDs. Bottorff also punched in two rushing touchdowns, which is notable because Atchison County is 2-1 when he posts at least two rushing touchdowns, but 1-3 otherwise.
Nemaha Central's victory bumped their record up to 7-0. As for Atchison County, they now have a losing record of 3-4.
Friday's game will pit two of the most dominant backs against one another: Hajek and Bottorff. Hajek just won't slow down this season and has thrown 7 touchdowns while averaging 81.1 passing yards per game. Bottorff has been a dominant force too and has run in 10 touchdowns while averaging 75.7 rushing yards per game.
Everything came up roses for Nemaha Central against Atchison County in their previous matchup back in October of 2024, as the squad secured a 46-0 win. Will the Thunder repeat their success, or do the Tigers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
