The Sterling Silver Knights lost against the Haddonfield Bulldawgs back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Sterling fell 40-27 to Haddonfield. While losing is never fun, Sterling can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New Jersey basketball rankings (they are ranked 173rd, while Haddonfield is ranked 44th).
Sterling lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Erin Quinn, who scored ten points along with two steals. That was a full 37% of Sterling's points, marking the third time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Sterling now has a losing record at 11-12. As for Haddonfield, their win was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 18-3.
Sterling won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Gateway Regional at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. As for Haddonfield, they will head out on the road to square off against Rancocas Valley at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Haddonfield's defense has only allowed 28.9 points per game this season, so Rancocas Valley's offense will have their work cut out for them.
