The Forestville Central Hornets will face off against the Silver Creek Black Knights at 4:30 p.m. on Thursday. Forestville Central is currently enjoying a perfect season and no doubt wants to keep things rolling.
On Wednesday, Forestville Central made easy work of Brocton and carried off a 13-1 win. The Hornets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four contests by six runs or more this season.
Megan Gruber was a major factor while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 13 over seven innings pitched. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts any time she's pitched this season. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with five runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. That's the most runs she has posted since back in April of 2024.

Like Forestville Central, Silver Creek also got a great game from a two-way player: Maddie Blair. She struck out ten batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off nine hits (and only one walk). Blair was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. That stolen base was her first of the season.

Silver Creek has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3-1 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. As for Forestville Central, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 6-0.
Silver Creek's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Forestville Central has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .435.
