The Ritchie County Rebels''s recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their third straight loss. They took a serious blow against Cameron, falling 50-13. Ritchie County was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 36-0.
Several Rebels players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bodhi Utter, who rushed for 86 yards and a touchdown on only 12 carries. The team also got some help courtesy of Bryce Newbrough, who picked up 102 receiving yards and a touchdown.
Ritchie County's defeat was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their overall record down to 2-7. Admittedly, the team was facing some tough opposition over that stretch, including 9-0 Wahama and 9-0 Williamstown (their opponents had an average overall winning percentage of 91.3% over those games). As for Cameron, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 8-1.
Ritchie County will head out on the road to face off against Sherman at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Sherman is ranked 89th, while Ritchie County is ranked 86th). As for Cameron, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pendleton County at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Pendleton County has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 170 points over their last three contests.
