The LeRoy Panthers will take on the Heyworth Hornets at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. LeRoy knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Heyworth likes a good challenge.
Heyworth's hitters are going to have their work cut out for them on Wednesday: LeRoy hadn't allowed a single run the last three times they've hit the field. The Panthers' pitcher stepped up to hand Fisher an 11-0 shutout on Monday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Bunnies recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive victory against them.
Jack Bogema made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over five innings pitched. Bogema was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-3.

In other batting news, Cole Wilson was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. He has become a key player for LeRoy: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 1-2 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Kobe Brent, who scored three runs while going 1-for-2.
LeRoy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .400 or higher in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Heyworth came up short against Gibson City-Melvin-Sibley on Monday, falling 14-4. The Hornets have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
LeRoy pushed their record up to 4-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for Heyworth, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. LeRoy hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Heyworth struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.5 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
LeRoy suffered a grim 8-1 defeat to Heyworth in their previous meeting back in May of 2024. Will the Panthers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the action for a full breakdown of the game and more baseball content.
