The School of the Arts Silverhawks will challenge the Edison Tech Inventors at 4:45 p.m. on Wednesday. School of the Arts' pitching crew has only allowed 3.9 runs per game this season, so Edison Tech's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
On Monday, School of the Arts made easy work of Wilson Magnet and carried off an 11-1 win. The victory continues a trend for the Silverhawks in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won seven in a row.
Bennie Laver made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he struck out nine batters over 4.2 innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.

In other batting news, School of the Arts got a massive performance out of Paul Alex Stevens II, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most runs Stevens II has posted since back in May of 2024. Henry Hawkinson was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two triples and one stolen base.
School of the Arts always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Edison Tech, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 7-6 win over Franklin on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Inventors have posted against the Bulldogs since May 19, 2022.
Edison Tech's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-4. As for School of the Arts, the victory got them back to even at 4-4.
School of the Arts skirted past Edison Tech 9-7 in their previous matchup two weeks ago. Do the Silverhawks have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Inventors turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
