Marquez extended their winning streak to three on Wednesday, bumping them up to 8-1. They put the hurt on the Lincoln Tigers with a sharp 13-2 win. 13 seems to be a good number for the Gladiators as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.

Darla Sanchez made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just two earned runs off six hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two RBI, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Delilah Sanchez was incredible, going 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. She is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as she's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Sophia Aguirre, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one run, and one double.
Marquez was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .400. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .333 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
As for Lincoln, they now have a losing record of 2-3. The loss continues a trend for them in their meetings with Marquez: they've now lost four in a row.
On Lincoln's side, Val Vences made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went a perfect 2-for-2 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Gladys Barajas, who got on base in all three of her plate appearances with one RBI.
Marquez and Lincoln will both get a bit of extra prep time before their next contests. The next time the Gladiators see the field they'll take on Providence at 3:15 p.m. on April 6. As for Lincoln, their break will end when they face Huntington Park at 1:30 p.m. on April 8.
