Basketball Recap: Westover Takes a Loss

The Westover Wolverines didn't have quite enough to beat the Harrells Christian Academy Crusaders on Friday and fell 64-61. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (59), the Wolverines still had to take the loss.

When it comes to explaining why Westover lost, don't look at Demarious Hall. Despite the final result, he shot 40% from the field on his way to 18 points. Hall's big performance that afternoon made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Za'Veon Porter, who went 5-for-10 en route to 11 points.

Antonio McKoy produced another solid performance dropping a double-double with 36 points and 13 boards for Harrells Christian Academy. McKoy has been hot for a while, having posted 16 or more points the last 24 times he's played. Dashaun McKoy was another key player, putting up 11 points and six rebounds.

Westover's loss dropped their record down to 1-3. As for Harrells Christian Academy, the victory was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 3-1.

Westover didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, an 80-71 win against Union Pines on the 2nd. As for Harrells Christian Academy, they have also already played their next contest, a 74-55 victory against Northwood Temple Academy on the 1st.
