The Hawthorne Hornets stacked a sixth blowout win onto their ever-increasing hoard on Saturday. They blew past Eastside 49-20 on the road. The victory was nothing new for Hawthorne as they're now sitting on eight straight.
Hawthorne was led to victory by Dacarion Debose and CJ Ingram. Debose scored 17 points, while Ingram scored 14 points along with six rebounds and five assists. That's the first time this season that Debose scored 15 or more points. The team also got some help courtesy of Caleb Rollerson, who scored ten points along with three steals.
Despite the loss, Eastside saw an underclassman step up: Lemarion Houston scored five points along with three steals.
Hawthorne has been performing well recently as they've won nine of their last 11 games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season. As for Eastside, they have been struggling recently, as they've lost seven of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-15 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Hawthorne will take on Trenton at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. Trenton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Florida Rankings (they are ranked 338th, while Hawthorne is ranked 127th). As for Eastside, they the luxury of staying home another game and will welcome Gainesville at 7:30 p.m. on February 2nd.
