The Belchertown Orioles will face off against the West Springfield Terriers at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Belchertown knows how to get runs on the board -- the squad has finished with ten runs or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully West Springfield likes a good challenge.
If Belchertown beats West Springfield with 13 runs on Friday, it's going to be the team's new lucky number: they've won their past two games with that exact score. The Orioles beat Northampton on Tuesday by the very same score they won with in their prior game: 13-1. The Orioles might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by nine runs or more this season.
Lila Roy made a big impact no matter where she played. She pitched five innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Roy was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and two doubles.

Meanwhile, West Springfield fell victim to Ludlow and their airtight pitching crew on Wednesday. They came up short against the Lions, falling 23-0. Having soared to a lofty 18 runs in the game before, the Terriers' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.
Belchertown's win bumped their record up to 5-1. As for West Springfield, their defeat was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 2-6.
West Springfield's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Belchertown has been making plenty of contact this season, having averaged 10.8 hits per game. It's a different story for West Springfield, though, as they've been averaging 13.4 hits. Given Belchertown's sizable advantage in that area, the Terriers will need to find a way to close that gap.
