Highland Tech won the last time they faced Piedmont Community Charter and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Rams managed a 55-50 win over the Patriots. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Rams.

Highland Tech's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Lily Johnson led the charge by almost dropping a double-double with 17 points and nine assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Nyla Rae Bailey, who dropped a double-double with 11 points and 14 boards.

They weren't the only ones working in the assist department: Highland Tech was working as a unit and finished the game with 14 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Piedmont Community Charter only racked up seven.

Several Patriots players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Shelby Ostrander, who almost dropped a double-double with nine points and 12 rebounds. With that strong performance, Ostrander is now averaging an impressive 8.2 boards per game. Erielle Smith also deserves some recognition as she posted her first blocks of the season.

Highland Tech's victory bumped their record up to 2-0. As for Piedmont Community Charter, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-3.

Highland Tech has already played their next contest, a 58-47 win against Pinnacle Classical Academy on the 19th. As for Piedmont Community Charter, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 57-18 defeat against Lake Norman Charter on the 21st.
