Adams City hasn't had much luck against Skyview recently, but that could start to change on Thursday. The Eagles will venture away from home to take on the Wolverines at 4:00 p.m. Adams City is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
On Tuesday, Adams City made easy work of Overland and carried off a 9-2 victory. The Eagles haven't had any issues with the Blazers recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive win against them.

Christian Ramirez was a major factor no matter where he played. He struck out 12 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Marcos LaCrue, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases, two RBI, and one run. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in March. David Trujillo also deserves some recognition as he launched his first home run of the season.
Meanwhile, Skyview got the win against Aurora Central on Tuesday by a conclusive 12-2. The Wolverines might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by six runs or more this season.
Like Adams City, Skyview also got a great game from a two-way player: Humberto Chavez. On the mound, Chavez kept things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out nine over four innings pitched. Meanwhile, Kaleb Rodriguez tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Chavez also allowed no hits, which is notable because Skyview is 4-2 when he allows at most three hits, but 3-4 otherwise. At bat, Chavez went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run, while Rodriguez went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Christopher Ovalle was excellent, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has become a key player for Skyview: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 4-6 otherwise. Marcelo Navarro was another key player, going 1-for-2 with two runs and one RBI.
Skyview was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .500. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .355 or higher in three consecutive matchups.
Adams City's record is now 7-5. As for Skyview, they now have a winning record of 7-6.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Thursday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Adams City has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 9.6 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Skyview struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 7.8 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
