The Swallows Charter Academy Spartans will look to defend their home court on Monday against the Peyton Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Swallows Charter Academy is out to stop a 11-game streak of losses at home.
Last Thursday, Swallows Charter Academy came up short against Cotopaxi and fell 58-46.
Even though the team lost, they still had their share of impressive performances. One of the most dominant came from Christian Garcia, who scored nine points along with 11 rebounds and four steals. Another player making a difference was Andrew Breedlove, who scored 16 points.
Even though they lost, Swallows Charter Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 18 offensive rebounds. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Meanwhile, Peyton didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Fowler on Friday, but they still walked away with a 54-50 win.
Peyton's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Michael Perry led the charge by scoring 22 points along with six assists. Perry has been hot recently, having posted 15 or more points the last three times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Gabriel Gatti, who scored 13 points along with three steals.
Swallows Charter Academy's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Peyton, their victory bumped their record up to 6-4.
Keep an eye on the arc in Monday's match: Swallows Charter Academy have made nailing deep shots look easy this year this season, having only averaged 4 threes per game. It's a different story for Peyton, though, as they've been averaging only 4.6 threes per game. Given Swallows Charter Academy's sizeable advantage in that area, Peyton will need to find a way to close that gap.
Swallows Charter Academy took a serious blow against Peyton in their previous meeting back in December of 2022, falling 75-18.
