Burns dropped down to 6-4 on Friday, ending the team's five-game streak of wins. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 36-35 to the Shelby Golden Lions. The Bulldogs were not able to make up for their loss to the Golden Lions from their previous meeting back in November of 2024.

As for Shelby, they pushed their record up to 7-3 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. The home wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 53.8 points over those games.

Lan Farmer produced another solid performance throwing for 311 yards and three touchdowns while completing 84.4% of his passes, and also rushing for 70 yards and a pair of scores. Shelby is undefeated when Farmer posts three or more passing touchdowns, but 0-3 otherwise. The Golden Lions' leading receiver Jamarion Jj Williams was Farmer's top target yet again, picking up 141 receiving yards and two TDs.

As of now, neither Burns nor Shelby have any future games scheduled.
