Ethan Duel made a big impact no matter where he played. He pitched six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. What's more, he posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in May of 2025. He was also big at the plate, earning one run and two stolen bases.
Duel wasn't the only one making solid contact as five players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Noah Bouras, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with one run. Jesse Michaud was another, going 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI.
Winneconne was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .391. That's the best batting average they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, it may have taken eight innings to finish the job, but Seymour ultimately got the result they hoped for on Saturday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Fox Valley Lutheran, sneaking past 9-8.
Like Winneconne, Seymour also got a great game from a two-way player: Xavier Salzman. On the mound, he pitched one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Salzman has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in seven consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Carson Staffeldt, who went 2-for-4 with one run, one double, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Nolan Beilfuss, who went 1-for-4 with one run and one RBI.
Seymour's victory bumped their record up to 9-5-1. As for Winneconne, their win bumped their record up to 9-5.
