Zavier Trenkle posted a new career-high in strikeouts on Saturday. As a matter of fact, he turned in his biggest game of the season, striking out 15 batters over 6.2 innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off two hits. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

Trenkle's strong effort led Merino over Caliche and he'll get a chance to do so again: the teams have a rematch scheduled at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. The Rams are a perfect 9-0 against the Buffaloes going back to May of 2021, a lead they'll look to extend.
