The Forest Hills Yellow Jackets suffered their biggest defeat yet this season on Tuesday. They took a serious blow against Monroe, falling 76-49. Forest Hills was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 48-25.
When it comes to explaining why Forest Hills lost, one person who can't be blamed is Samuel Huntley. Despite the final result, he scored 13 points. Another player making a difference was Kj Chambers, who scored five points along with five rebounds.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Monroe to victory, but perhaps none more so than Micah Allen, who scored 15 points along with seven rebounds. That's the first time this season that Allen scored 15 or more points. Jordan Young was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six assists and two steals.
Forest Hills' loss dropped their record down to 9-8. As for Monroe, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Forest Hills on the road again on Friday and play against Parkwood at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. One thing working in Parkwood's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last 12 matchups. Monroe won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Anson at 7:30 p.m. on January 24th. Anson is on a three-game streak of home losses, Monroe a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change.
