On the hitting side, Michael Riaboukha was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI. Riaboukha is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Ethan Hummel was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBI.
Seminole Ridge was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .455. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their batting average total in three consecutive contests.
Meanwhile, Cardinal Newman fell victim to St. John Paul II Academy and their airtight pitching crew on Friday. They took a 4-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Crusaders were not able to get on the board.
Cardinal Newman also got a good showing from Toby Glass, who struck out eight batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits.

Seminole Ridge's speedy runners might be the difference in Tuesday's contest. The Hawks have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 5.5 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Cardinal Newman, though, as they've been averaging only 0.8 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Seminole Ridge continue to outrun the ball?
Seminole Ridge couldn't quite finish off Cardinal Newman in their previous meeting back in April of 2025 and fell 4-2. Will the Hawks have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check MaxPreps after the match for a full breakdown of the game, commentary, and other baseball content.
