Even though the Gridley Bulldogs scored an imposing 63 points on Tuesday, the Las Plumas Thunderbirds still came out on top. Las Plumas narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Gridley 65-63. For Las Plumas, this counts as revenge for the 63-60 loss Gridley walked away with the last time they faced one another back in January of 2023.

Despite the loss, Gridley still got an impressive performance from Aaron Kullar, who went 6 for 7 from beyond the arc en route to 25 points and 2 assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Bikram Kullar, who scored ten points along with eight assists.
Las Plumas is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 15-8 record this season. As for Gridley, their loss ended a six-game streak of away wins and brought them to 15-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Las Plumas will challenge Oroville at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Oroville is coming into the game on a four-game losing streak. Gridley's road trip will continue as they head out to face Corning at 7:30 p.m. on January 26th. Corning will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps California Rankings (they are ranked 728th, while Gridley is ranked 319th).
