It was all tied up 14-14 at halftime, but Devils Lake was not quite Beulah's equal in the second half when they met on Saturday. Devils Lake came up short against Beulah, falling 29-20. If the Firebirds were hoping to take revenge for the 36-6 loss against Beulah the last time the teams met in September, then they were left disappointed.
This is the second loss in a row for Devils Lake and nudges their record down to 4-5. The win was the seventh in a row for Beulah and raised their record to 10-1.
The Firebirds will have some time to rest before their next matchup, which is against Hazen at 7 p.m. ET in two weeks. If you head out to watch the game, expect to stay the whole 48 minutes: the MaxPreps rankings predict a close match. As for the Miners, they will go up against Valley City at 1 p.m. ET next week. Valley City is also hoping to continue their momentum after a victory three weeks ago.
