D2 District 6 (8 Man) recap October 1, 2013
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Lawrence-Nelson, who defeated 29th ranked Kenesaw, 54-6.
Amherst was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after beating Wilcox-Hildreth. The Broncos came in at 24 in the state poll after placing at number 26 last week.
Axtell's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. Parker Sis threw for 66 yards and Dakota Klingsporn had 43 yards receiving. On the ground Klingsporn contributed 78 yards.
Tyson Stratman was a key player and the best on defense this week as the Wildcats fell to Shelton. He racked up 2.0 sacks.
Klingsporn provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Axtell lost to the Bulldogs.
Klingsporn was the best wideout in D2 District 6 (8 Man) this week as Bryan Becker's team lost to Shelton.
The leading receiver in the league this season is Wyatt Woodman. The Kenesaw star has 5 catches for 205 yards.
The marquee game in the league this week will be the clash between Mike Lowe's team and Amherst. The Bulldogs enters the game ranked eighth in the state, while Ron Evans' team ranks 24th.
There should be lots of points scored when the Blue Devils and the Falcons face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, Kenesaw comes in having scored 166 this season, while Wilcox-Hildreth has scored 70. Craig Schnitzler's team scored 6 points last week as it lost to the Raiders.
Shelton extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating the Wildcats, 62-6. The victory was the fourth in a row for the Bulldogs.
