Bishop Alemany has gone a perfect 5-0 against Flintridge Sacred Heart recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Thursday. The Warriors will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tologs at 3:30 p.m. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (Bishop Alemany 3.6, Flintridge Sacred Heart 3.1) so any runs scored will be well earned.
Last Friday, Bishop Alemany came up short against El Camino Real and fell 8-5. The Warriors have struggled against the Royals recently, as the game was their ninth consecutive lost meeting.
Sienna Valadez made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and scored a run and stole three bases while going 2-for-5. The team also got some help courtesy of Katelyn Ortiz, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in two of her four plate appearances.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Flintridge Sacred Heart). They never let Immaculate Heart get on the board and left with a 23-0 win on Tuesday. Winning may never get old, but the Tologs sure are getting used to it with their fifth in a row.
Flintridge Sacred Heart got a massive performance out of Ava Nawrocki, who got on base in three of her five plate appearances with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI Nawrocki has posted since back in March of 2024. Gianna Candelora was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three runs, four RBI, and one double.
Flintridge Sacred Heart was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .632. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .321 or higher in nine consecutive matchups.
Flintridge Sacred Heart pushed their record up to 10-3-1 with the victory, which was their fifth straight on the road. Those road wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.2 runs on average over those games. As for Bishop Alemany, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-4.
Thursday's game will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Bishop Alemany hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .372. However, it's not like Flintridge Sacred Heart struggles in that department as they've averaged .419. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Bishop Alemany was able to grind out a solid victory over Flintridge Sacred Heart in their previous matchup back in March, winning 5-1. Will the Warriors repeat their success, or do the Tologs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
