Rocky River has struggled against Independence recently, as their contest on Tuesday was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.
Several Ravens players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Markiest Houston, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and two steals. Houston is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 16 games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Jayden Ross, who scored 13 points.
Rocky River's loss dropped their record down to 7-10. As for Independence, the win was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-4.
Rocky River will head out on the road to square off against Garinger at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Garinger is on a seven-game streak of home losses, Rocky River a four-game streak of away losses, but someone's luck is about to change. Independence will take on Butler at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Butler's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last four contests.
