The Doniphan-Trumbull Cardinals entered their tilt with the Hershey Panthers with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. Doniphan-Trumbull blew past Hershey 62-39. With Doniphan-Trumbull ahead 40-20 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Leading Doniphan-Trumbull to victory were Parker Volk and Jack Poppe. Volk scored 20 points along with five rebounds, while Poppe scored 16 points along with eight rebounds and seven steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which Poppe has scored at least 25% of Doniphan-Trumbull's points. Another player making a difference was Kaedan Detamore, who scored eight points.
Doniphan-Trumbull's win bumped their record up to 7-1. As for Hershey, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-5.
Doniphan-Trumbull will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Gothenburg at 4:30 p.m. on December 30th. Gothenburg is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune. As for Hershey, they will head out on the road to face off against South Loup on Tuesday. The timing is sure in South Loup's favor as the team sits on three straight wins at home while Hershey has been banged up by three consecutive losses on the road.
