After three games on the road, El Dorado is heading back home. They will take on the Brea Olinda Wildcats at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Last Friday, El Dorado earned a 60-52 win over Esperanza. Given El Dorado's advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 277th, while Esperanza is ranked 650th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
El Dorado relied on the efforts of Andrew Salvador, who scored 16 points along with six rebounds and three steals, and Noah Barker, who scored 16 points along with seven rebounds. Salvador is on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Nathan Meek, who scored five points along with six rebounds.
Brea Olinda can finally bid farewell to their seven-game losing streak thanks to their game on Friday. They walked away with a 49-41 victory over El Modena.
El Dorado's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 15-9. Admittedly, the team didn't face the toughest opposition across those games, namely Esperanza, El Modena, and Brea Olinda. As for Brea Olinda, their victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 8-13.
El Dorado was able to grind out a solid victory over Brea Olinda in their previous matchup last Friday, winning 49-38. Will El Dorado repeat their success, or does Brea Olinda have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
