The North Harrison Cougars will venture away from home to face off against the Providence Pioneers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Expect the scorekeeper to be kept busy: if their previous games are any indication, these teams will really light up the scoreboard.
As a matter of fact, North Harrison put up the most points they have all season on Friday. They claimed a resounding 56-26 victory over Clarksville. With the Cougars ahead 35-14 at the half, the contest was all but over already.

Bryce Fessel continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 282 yards and five touchdowns while picking up 14.1 yards per carry. That's the most rushing touchdowns he has posted since back in September of 2024. Caden Hoehn also helped out as he racked up 110 rushing yards.
Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something North Harrison proved: they limited Clarksville to a paltry 2.4 yards per carry. The Cougars didn't have any issues in that department, having averaged 11.4.
Meanwhile, you can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Providence's strategy against Indianapolis Scecina Memorial last Friday. Given that consistent dominance, it should come as no surprise that the Pioneers blew the Crusaders out of the water with a 51-7 final score. Considering the Pioneers have won five matchups by more than 20 points this season, Friday's blowout was nothing new.
North Harrison better focus on containing Nikolas Fondrisi and Trenton Taylor as the pair were huge in Providence's win. Fondrisi threw for 146 yards and three TDs, while Taylor rushed for 57 yards and one score on only five carries.
Providence didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Gabriel Bermudez and Noah Frossard. Another thorn in Indianapolis Scecina Memorial's side was Lincoln Kruer, who picked up a sack and made nine total tackles.
Providence has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-2 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 43.6 points over those games. As for North Harrison, their record is now 3-5.
Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. North Harrison has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 271.1 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Providence struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 199.6 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
North Harrison suffered a grim 24-0 defeat to Providence in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. Can the Cougars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
