The Arbor View Aggies had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They breezed by West Jordan on the road to the tune of 64-36. With Arbor View ahead 36-12 at the half, the match was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Pharaoh Compton, who dropped a double-double on 19 points and 12 rebounds. Another player making a difference was Maximus Romero, who scored 3 points along with 8 assists and 4 steals.
Arbor View's win bumped their record up to 1-0. As for West Jordan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Arbor View will head out on the road to face off against Corner Canyon at 8:00 p.m. on Thursday. Corner Canyon presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than Arbor View in the nation (Corner Canyon is ranked 30th in Utah, while Arbor View is ranked 100th in Nevada). As for West Jordan, they will face off against Layton Christian Academy at 12:20 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully Layton Christian Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 28 on Monday.
