The Orem Tigers waltzed into their matchup on Friday with nine straight wins but they left with ten. They walked away with a 75-63 victory over Maple Mountain. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Orem to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jax Allen, who scored 22 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Allen has scored all season. Trey Hiatt was another key contributor, scoring 14 points along with six rebounds.
Several Golden Eagles players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Bennett Averett, who scored 15 points along with five assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Colton Marker, who scored 15 points.
Orem pushed their record up to 15-4 with that victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.3 points per game. As for Maple Mountain, they now have a losing record at 9-10.
Orem will be playing at home against the Wasps at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Wasatch is coming into the contest on a three-game losing streak. As for Maple Mountain, they will head out on the road to face off against the Aviators at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Cedar Valley has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 702 points over their last 11 games.
