The Olentangy Braves waltzed into Friday's matchup with two straight wins but they left with three. They walked away with a 59-49 win over Marysville. This was payback for Olentangy, who suffered a 53-25 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Olentangy was led to victory by Sydney Mobley and Whitney Stafford. Mobley dropped a double-double on 20 points and 22 rebounds, while Stafford scored 24 points along with 8 steals and 5 rebounds. That makes it three consecutive games in which Stafford has scored at least 25% of Olentangy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chayla Rankin, who scored 10 points along with 3 blocks.
Olentangy's victory bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Marysville, their defeat dropped their record down to 1-1.
Olentangy will square off against Western Reserve Academy at 11:20 a.m. on Sunday. As for Marysville, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Big Walnut at 7:30 p.m.
