The Chipley Tigers will face off against the Ponce De Leon Pirates at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams are strolling into their games after big wins in their previous games.
Chipley took a loss when they played away from home on Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Friday. Everything went their way against Vernon as they made off with an 11-4 win. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six contests by seven runs or more so far this season.

Chipley let Olivia Brown and Abigail Thompson run wild. Brown scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances, while Thompson scored two runs and stole three bases while going 2-for-3. Those three stolen bases gave Thompson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Kenzlee Nelson, who went 1-for-5 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.
Meanwhile, Ponce De Leon got themselves on the board against Graceville on Friday, but Graceville never followed suit. They put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 11-0 victory.
Aubrey Murphy was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, tossing two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Murphy was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-2.
Murphy wasn't the only one making solid contact as two players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Clara Martin, who scored two runs while going 1-for-2. Another was Kiyann Alford, who scored a run while going 1-for-2.
Ponce De Leon always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .632. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Chipley is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 13.2 runs over those games. As for Ponce De Leon, their victory ended a five-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-7.
Ponce De Leon's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Chipley hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .326. It's a different story for Ponce De Leon, though, as they've only averaged .226. Will they be able to contain Chipley's hitters?
Chipley was able to grind out a solid win over Ponce De Leon when the teams last played back in March, winning 10-7. Will the Tigers repeat their success, or do the Pirates have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
