Basketball Game Preview: Dominion Christian Knights vs. Atlanta International Eagles

The Dominion Christian Knights will be playing in front of their home fans against the Atlanta International Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Atlanta International took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Dominion Christian, who comes in off a win.

Dominion Christian is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 63-15 victory over Praise Academy. The Knights have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five games by 26 points or more this season.

Elizabeth Johnson had a dynamite game for Dominion Christian, going 10 for 14 on her way to 23 points and five rebounds. Those 23 points gave Johnson a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Zena Irby, who went 6 of 7 on her way to 12 points and seven rebounds.

Dominion Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive rebounds in four consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, Atlanta International came up short against Whitefield Academy back in December of 2024 and fell 61-52. While the Eagles didn't get the win, they did start the game off strong, beating the WolfPack 14-8 in the first quarter.

Dominion Christian pushed their record up to 9-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 18.0 points per game. As for Atlanta International, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-3.

Things could have been worse for Dominion Christian, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 43-25 loss to Atlanta International in their previous meeting back in November of 2022. Can Dominion Christian avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
